A sample itinerary

Day 1 — Arrival in Colonia. Fly in from Guam and walk to a waterfront hotel in the island’s small capital. Evening village visit for a first look at the famous stone money — and the story of how it was quarried hundreds of miles away, rafted home, and earned.

Day 2 — Village day. The heart of the trip: meeting houses, canoe-building sheds, and the etiquette that still governs village life. It is traditional to offer a small gift — betel nut is customary — and your guide will show you the proper way.

Day 3 — Manta rays. A morning on the water at the cleaning stations where mantas cruise, often inches overhead — one of the most reliable encounters of its kind in the Pacific. Lunch ashore; afternoon free for the beach or a colonial-era history walk.

Day 4 — The outer villages. Communities where traditional dress, dance, and craft still follow the old rhythms. If a dance performance can be arranged during your visit, it is not a show for tourists — it is village life, and you are invited.

Day 5 — The lagoon, your way. A gentle kayak through mangrove-lined channels, a snorkel along the barrier reef, a second morning with the mantas in season — or simply the slowest day of your year.

Day 6 — Departure. Transfer to the airport.
