The place
Manta Ray Bay Hotel is Yap’s long-standing dive resort, run by the same family since 1986 and now entering its fourth decade. It sits on the water in Colonia with themed rooms, and its own floating restaurant and bar, the Mnuw, is built on a converted phinisi schooner. The hotel’s dive arm, Yap Divers, is a PADI 5-star center and the island’s oldest dive operation.
Diving
- Manta ray encounters at M’il Channel, the site Yap is known for, most reliable from December through April
