The service
Bank of Guam is the region’s established bank, with branches in all four FSM states and Palau as well as Guam. For families moving money between Guam and the islands, it is the most direct route: account holders can transfer funds between branches, bank online, and use the local ATM network — all in US dollars.
How it works
- Send money between Guam and FSM branches by transfer, or deposit cash at the branch
- The receiver uses their own Bank of Guam account at any branch
- Online and mobile banking are available for account holders
- Branch hours in the islands are limited — typically weekdays
Practical notes
- The FSM branches are in Weno (Chuuk), Kolonia (Pohnpei), Colonia (Yap), and Lelu (Kosrae)
- For cash pickups without a bank account, Western Union and MoneyGram agent networks also operate across the FSM
