Only a small number of tourists visit the Marshall islands each year. This is because of the remoteness of this island nation. There is only one main road through the whole of the capital city.
The island nation is famous for its marine life and diving opportunities. Many of the atolls abound with Flame of the Forest, hibiscus, and different-colored plumeria flowers. There are also at least 160 species of coral surrounding the islands.
There are many restaurants with diverse cuisine in various parts of the atoll.

There are mosquitoes. Use insect repellent, wear long sleeves at dawn and dusk when mosquitoes are most active, and try to sleep in a room with insect screens on the windows. Tourists are also advised as a precaution to take these vaccinations: Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid, Tetanus-diphtheria, and Tuberculosis (TB). When snorkeling or diving, try to follow a local guide as there may be unexploded mines from WWII.

Taxis are cheap and suitable for getting around Majuro island. There are coffee shops and restaurants. The pace is slow. You have to be patient. Crime in Marshal Islands is low, but don't flash your cash around and make yourself an obvious target for thieves. Keep your valuables hidden or locked in a safe at your accommodation, and always lock the door to your room.
