Woman arrested after running over boyfriend

A 25-YEAR-OLD woman was arrested on Wednesday last week after police said she ran her boyfriend over with her car.

Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $10,000 bail on Pennie Lee Concepcion Cabrera who was released to a third-party custodian, Patricia Concepcion, after posting an appearance bond of $10,000 on the day of her bail hearing on Feb. 9.

Assistant Attorney General Frances Demapan appeared for the government while Public Defender Douglas Hartig was appointed to represent the defendant.

The judge set the preliminary hearing for Feb. 16 at 2:30 p.m., and the arraignment for Feb. 26 at 9 a.m.

Court documents did not mention the place of the incident but police said Cabrera’s boyfriend called them at around 8:30 a.m. to report a domestic-violence incident.

When the officer arrived at the scene, she noticed scratches on the victim’s left leg.

The victim told the officer that he and Cabrera had an argument over a text message he received from a female friend. During the argument, he said Cabrera punched him in the chest four times.

He said he tried to get his personal belongings from Cabrera’s vehicle, but she wouldn’t let him. Cabrera got into her vehicle, backed up, hit him and ran over his leg, he said.

An eyewitness told the police that he saw Cabrera and the victim arguing outside a house. The witness said Cabrera backed up her car “aggressively,” injuring the victim’s leg. Cabrera did not stop and drove off “recklessly,” almost hitting another car, the witness added.

Police arrested Cabrera at 5 p.m. on the same day.
