Traditional Lunar Calendar featured on Sunday’s ‘Your Humanities Half-Hour’

(Press Release) — This Sunday’s “Your Humanities Half-Hour” will feature several individuals who possess traditional knowledge about how the lunar calendar is utilized in Chamorro and Carolinian cultures for farming, fishing, navigation and sailing, and other purposes.

The guests are Jack Ogumoro, onsite coordinator for the Western Pacific Regional Fishery Management Council; Cecilio Raiukiulipiy, a traditional navigator and member of the advisory panel of the Refaluwasch Lunar Calendar Committee; Isidoru Cabrera; and Stanley Taisacan, chairman of the advisory panel of the Chamorro lunar Calendar Committee.
