Tinian International Airport newly renovated

A CHARTER flight from Hong Kong will arrive at the newly renovated Tinian International Airport on Friday.

Tinian Mayor Joey Patrick San Nicolas said they will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 12 noon.

“We are very excited about our international airport and receiving direct flights from Asia. Members of the public are invited to come and join us as we celebrate the completion of this project,” the mayor said. “The Commonwealth Ports Authority has done a good job in expediting this project.”

Sen. Jude Hofschneider said they intend to implement other infrastructure projects on Tinian.

CPA board member Kimberly King-Hinds, who is from Tinian, said the $5 million airport project was federally funded.
