THE annual International Festival of Cultures on Saipan provides a comprehensive platform for local ethnic communities and multicultural artists to present their arts and crafts in downtown Garapan.
The participating artists are professionals and amateurs, and represent the diverse population on Saipan.
There will be dance and musical performances, ethnic cuisines, arts, calligraphy, design and cultural expressions from across the Pacific region.
Tanya Salas, representing Pohnpei-FSM, is hoping to see FSM community members joining the celebration of culture and traditions.
Salas, who is also behind Tahines Creations, is seeking volunteers to perform cultural dances, songs, conduct a sakau ceremony, prepare authentic local food, model island wear, and offer love and support to make this year’s festival another successful event.
The Mariana Visitors Authority will host the 3rd annual International Festival of Culture on Sept. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, 2017 at the Garapan Fishing Base from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Check out Tahines Creations on Facebook for more information.
