Mark Brown retires as IPI board chairman

MARK Brown has retired as board chairman of Imperial Pacific International “to pursue other projects close to his family” on the U.S. mainland, according to IPI.

Brown’s last working day for IPI was on Dec. 20, 2017.

In a statement, IPI said it respects his decision to retire and “extends its deepest appreciation to Mr. Brown for his commitment to the company and wishes him well in all his future undertakings.”

Brown served as the first chief executive officer of IPI prior to becoming its chairman in 2016. As CEO, he successfully launched IPI’s first casino, Best Sunshine Live.

As IPI’s chairman, he assumed an active role in IPI’s fundraising activities and activities relating to the CNMI government including the Commonwealth Casino Commission.

“Mr. Brown’s hard work and dedication to this duties as CEO and chairman have set a strong foundation for Imperial Pacific’s future success in the CNMI,” the statement said.

IPI said Brown has been “one of the most prominent and respected leaders in the gaming industry for over a quarter century.”

His leadership and expertise made a major contribution to IPI’s success, the company stated.
