AT his arraignment in federal court on Wednesday, David Muna Sablan entered a not guilty plea through his lawyer, Janet King. Assistant U.S. Attorney Garth Backe appeared for the federal government.
Sablan, 39, was indicted for conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, conspiracy to possess chemicals, products and equipment to manufacture methamphetamine.
According to the indictment, Sablan also created a substantial risk of harm to human life while illegally attempting to manufacture “ice.”
District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona said Sablan’s trial will start on May 31, 2018 at 10 a.m.
In an affidavit submitted to the court, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency said Sablan was in agreement with two or more persons to manufacture meth, and that the defendant knowingly manufactured meth and knew it was meth or some other federally controlled substance.
Sablan was arrested on March 15, 2018 in Garapan.
