House panel will discuss bill removing pay hike for officials, other measures

THE House Committee on Judiciary and Governmental Operations chaired by Rep. Ivan Blanco will meet today, Wednesday, to discuss several measures, among them Rep. Ed Propst’s H.B. 20-39 which proposes to remove the pay hike for elected officials.

The JGO will also tackle the following:

• House Bill 20-138 which will require all potential and certified candidates and their respective committees to fully disclose financial contributions and expenses one year before an election on a quarterly basis and seven days before the date of the election; and,

• H.B. 20-110, to clarify and strengthen the role and responsibilities of the Office of the Public Auditor.

Both bills were also introduced by Propst.
