THE Commonwealth Casino Commission last week revoked the provisional license of and imposed a $150,000 fine on Marianas Enterprises Ltd. whose lone employee, Ma Hongwei, was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in April for unlawful employment of aliens.
The commission also denied MEL’s application for a regular casino-vendor license.
On Oct. 12, 2016, the commission granted MEL’s request for a provisional casino-vendor license, but it also required it to submit a regular vendor license application within the next three months. MEL did not submit the application until Feb. 1, 2017.
MEL also failed to submit information regarding its employees and contracts, and its officials never showed up for an in-person interview with commission officials.
The commission order states that Executive Director Edward Deleon Guerrero’s finding of violations and determinations of offense are “upheld in all respects.”
