Two men were arrested Wednesday night, three days after the reported armed robbery of a tourist and her 8-year-old daughter at Two Lovers’ Point.
Arrested were Jeffrey Allen Evaristo, 26, of Dededo, and Xavier Anderson Tedtaotao, 39, of Santa Rita, said Capt. Kim Santos, Guam Police Department spokeswoman.
Officers executed at least three separate search warrants leading to the recovery of evidence and the arrest of the two men, Santos said.
Evaristo was arrested on suspicion of the following charges:
- Theft of Property
- Use of a Deadly Weapon in the Commission of a Felony
- Reckless Conduct
Tedtaotao was arrested on suspicion of:
- Theft of Property
They were booked and confined. The Mandaña Drug Task Force, Special Operations Division and patrol officers worked with criminal detectives on the case, Santos said.
Mother and daughter
The robbery took place outside Two Lovers’ Point Sunday afternoon, Santos previously said.
The woman had stopped by the entrance of Two Lovers’ Point, parked her car along the road to take photos with her daughter when a white car with two men inside pulled up, Santos said.
The passenger in the white sedan got out of the car when the mother and daughter were taking pictures. He pointed a handgun at the woman as he approached, Santos said.
The man with the gun told her not to move, went to her car and grabbed a white backpack from the rear seat, Santos had said.
The two men then fled.
Police found out the car used in the robbery — a 1994 Acura Integra — had been stolen from Paradise Fitness Center in Dededo June 9, Santos said.
The car was later found abandoned in the parking lot of the Micronesia Mall, she said.
