“That complaint is being investigated, and it is ongoing,” the AG said on Friday.

“We looked at that complaint when it first came to our office. And we continue to look at it at this time,” he added.

In May 2017, Ogumoro filed a formal complaint with the AG’s office, urging Manibusan to investigate corruption at DPS under the Fitial-Inos administration.

On Dec. 26, 2017, the CNMI Supreme Court affirmed the trial court’s sentencing and commitment order convicting Ogumoro of conspiracy to commit theft of services, theft of services, and misconduct in public office.

Ogumoro was charged for his involvement in a conspiracy to prevent the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Office of the Public Auditor and other government officials from serving a penal summons on former Attorney General Edward T. Buckingham in Aug. 2012.

Ogumoro participated in forming an illegal police escort, misappropriating police services, court documents stated.

Ogumoro also neglected to serve the penal summons issued for Buckingham.
