THE local Republican Party slate is now complete and ready for the November elections, according to GOP president James Ada.
Ada said the party is fielding a “strong” slate.
All GOP candidates from Saipan, Tinian and Rota, including Gov. Ralph D.L.G. Torres and his running-mate, Senate President Arnold I. Palacios, will participate in the party’s first road-waving activity today, Friday, April 6, at the Toyota intersection on Beach Road, starting at 4:30 p.m.
Ada said the GOP candidates from all three main islands will conduct their first meet-and-greet event on April 21 at the Civic Center in Susupe.
On April 13, the Rota GOP candidates will have a motorcade for Lt. Gov. Victor Hocog who is running for the Senate with former island fire chief Felix Santos, House Floor Leader Glenn Maratita and Mayor Efraim Atalig, both of whom are seeking re-election.
“We would like to extend our appreciation to our committees for taking the time to select their candidates,” Ada said. “For Tinian and Rota, we respect their choices and we are ready to endorse them all.”
The GOP candidate for delegate is Rep. Angel Demapan while its Precinct 1 House candidates are Vice Speaker Janet Maratita, Rep. Joseph Leepan Guerrero, Rep. Greg Sablan Jr., Councilman Luis John Castro, former Rep. Roman Benavente and Ray T. Palacios.
