Skymark to occupy Delta’s former office at Saipan airport

SKYMARK Airlines will lease the office that used to be occupied by Delta Air Lines at the Francisco C. Ada/Saipan International Airport, Commonwealth Ports Authority Executive Director Chris Tenorio said.

The approval of Skymark’s office lease was recommended by the CPA board’s airport facilities committee during a special meeting last week, and the full board will meet today, Tuesday, at 9:30 a.m., to approve it.

Skymark Airlines  and the Marianas Visitors Authority have signed a promotional agreement to launch a direct flight service between Japan and Saipan by March 2019.

Japan Air Lines pulled out of the CNMI in 2005 while Delta Air Lines ended its Japan-Saipan flight service in May this year.

Japan used to be the CNMI’s major tourism market which is now dominated by Korea and China.
