IMPERIAL Pacific International reopened its casino in Garapan at 6 p.m. on Sunday, two days after shutting it down because of the significant drop in tourist arrivals.
In a statement on Sunday, IPI said “that since commencing on-going repairs…it has reopened its casino.”
Last week, in its statement announcing the casino’s temporary closure, IPI said: “[Typhoon] Yutu left a trail of destruction on Saipan and Tinian and the islandwide destruction affected personal property, infrastructure and the business community. Like so many others, IPI was included in this trail of destruction. The airport’s closure has put a complete halt to the tourist industry because commercial flights have been suspended until the airport is safe for commercial flights to resume again.”
The Commonwealth Ports Authority said the airport’s normal operational hours, which include day and night operations, resumed on Tuesday, Nov. 20.
