Rotary Club to reschedule Las Vegas Night

ROTARY Club of Saipan’s biggest annual fundraising event, Las Vegas Night, will not be held on Nov. 17 as originally scheduled.

During the club’s regular Tuesday meeting at the Hyatt Regency Saipan, Rotary president Greg Borja said the event  may be held early next year.

“It would…be uncomfortable asking donations from community members during this time,” Borja said, referring to the typhoon recovery efforts.

He also noted that the venue, Saipan World Resort, also sustained damage.

Borja said those have bought tickets will get their refunds.

“We already asked our members to return the money,” he added. But the club will also be thankful to those who will just donate the money instead.

“That would be great because we can use [the money] for our community services,” Borja said.

Club president-elect Marcia Ayuyu said they are thankful to those who supported and will continue to support the Las Vegas Night fundraising event.

This year’s grand prize would have been a brand new 2018 Mirage or $10,000 cash.
