Glenn Muna accepts education commissioner’s position

GLENN Muna on Wednesday signed a contract to serve as the CNMI Public School System’s education commissioner, Board of Education member Herman T. Guerrero said.

He added that the contract is for four years, but Muna will have to undergo an annual evaluation.

“The board reserves the right to dismiss or retain the commissioner…that is the prerogative of the board,” Guerrero said, adding that the BOE has evaluation tools which they use in assessing the commissioner’s performance.

The BOE offered Muna, 41, the commissioner’s position on Nov. 8.

He was appointed  interim commissioner in Nov. 2017 after the board terminated Cynthia Deleon Guerrero’s contract. She held the position for a year.
