Former Saipan entertainers join Yutu fundraising concert on Guam

PROMINENT local bands on Guam performed in the “Super Typhoon Yutu Relief Concert” on Saturday, Nov. 17, to help typhoon victims on Saipan and Tinian.

Among the performers were Walden Beri Sr. and his wife Violeta Lapuz, former long-time Saipan residents.

“We did this because we feel for the people of Saipan and Tinian,” Beri said, adding that he and his wife have a lot of good friends in the CNMI.

The relief concert was held at the Elks Lodge at Agana Heights from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Also performing were Ben Lamlam, Dyun Gases, Daniel Deleon Guerrero, Tailgaters, Konference Band, Frank Guerrero, Wayne Schwartz, Zun Torrez and other artists.

The concert was “very successful” and was well attended by people who wanted to help Saipan and Tinian, Beri said.

“We are very thankful to the organizers for allowing us to play,” he added.
