31 Dec 2018
(Office of the Governor) — Acting Gov. Victor B. Hocog has authorized non-critical employees of the Commonwealth’s departments and agencies to take administrative leave on Monday, Dec. 31, 2018 beginning at 12 noon.
“2018 was an eventful year for many reasons,” he said in a memorandum on Friday. “Typhoon Mangkhut and Super Typhoon Yutu significantly changed us as a community, but the experience of this recovery has taught us to serve one another, to help each other out, and to be more resilient than before.”
The acting governor added:
“The promise of a new year comes an opportunity to be better versions of ourselves as we rebuild our islands. Recovery is more than just building stronger. Let us renew our bonds with one another to create a better Marianas that is dedicated to progress and committed to resiliency.
“To our government employees, thank you all for your hard work and service to improve these islands we call home. Let us continue to rebuild our islands stronger and more resilient than ever before.
“On behalf of Governor Torres, our families, and the entire administration, we hope you and your families have a prosperous 2019!”
